The vanki (or vanki bangle) dates back to ancient temple jewellery traditions of South India, where it was worn by deities in sculptures and temple icons—especially goddesses like Lakshmi and Parvati. Its unique inverted “V” shape is symbolic of protection and auspiciousness.
